Intro – Gill

Segment 1 – This week in WoW

Gillrispeer and the Failed Kara Run! – grrrrr…

FigurePrints lowers prices…well at least in the EU. http://www.wow.com/2009/09/12/figureprints-price-reduction-armor-sets-available

Mobile Authenticator Pulled from App Store – http://www.wow.com/2009/09/14/issues-with-mobile-authenticator-get-it-pulled-from-the-app-stor

Segment 2 – Blizzard Blues

Warsong Gulch Changes – A Change in how WSG is won was hotfixed on the live realms. Previously, if WSG was tied at the end of the time limit, the faction that captured first was credited for the win. Now the team that captured the LAST flag is now credited for the win. http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=19820543755&postId=198185710333&sid=1#4

Cataclysm to Outlands to Cataclysm? – Forum poster, Borex, discusses the disjointedness of leveling from 1-58 in Cataclysm, taking a break to head out to Outlands to face the Burning Legion, and then heading back to Cataclysm for the Cataclysmic events in Azeroth. Borex states, “You go off to Outland and leave all of this behind and ‘take a break’ not because the story goes this direction, but because you have to level.” In response to this lore and gameplay concern, Bornakk responded, “Just because Azeroth is being affected doesn’t mean the threat of the Burning Legion isn’t still there (for new toons to experience at least).” He goes onto say, “While a level 80 doesn’t need to return to the locations of Outland and Northrend and can focus on the new stories – a new character hasn’t helped defeat the villains in those areas so they still need to answer the call and fight them off (or in the terms people are tossing around, they need to level).

Segment 3 – Change Bank

Mobs Need More Activity! Everywhere you go in Azeroth, you run across random mobs to kill. Whether it’s wolfs in Ashenvale, Zhevras in the Barrens, or rhinos in the Borean Tundra (to name a few), almost ALL mobs in this game do the exact same thing. They wander around in a set pattern back and forth all day long. I want to see more activity and purpose! For instance, why can’t the pirates south of Ratchet be working on their ship? Or the wasps in Tanaris be working on their hive? Now we do see a few instances of this. Like the pirates in Tanaris are hammering away on their ship and the mammoths in the Storm Peaks are stampeding around. I would just like to see more of this. A vast majority of the mobs in this game do the same exact thing and it makes me feel like I’m doing the same thing over and over, just with a different model. If you create a randomness effect, where mobs are essentially “working”, you also create an added strategic benefit to the game. You might not want to attack a mob if he’s surrounded by 3 or 4 of his laboring buddies, but if he’s off gathering wood on his own, then maybe you can decide to pick him off.

Segment 4 – Loot Table

MPQ Editor – http://www.zezula.net/en/mpq/download.html – If you ever wanted to hear specific music or sound effect from ANY Blizzard game, here is a great MPQ editor. This allows you to go in an extract (to mp3) sound effects and music directly from your copy of World of Warcraft. The website says it works up to Burning Crusade, but it also works for Lich King as well.

Sunday Morning Funnies – http://www.wow.com/2009/09/13/sunday-morning-funnies-mohawked/ – @ Wow.com. When I was a kid, I used to love waking up on Sunday mornings to the smell of bacon. I’d stroll downstairs. My dad would be reading the Sunday paper and he’d throw me the only section I cared about…the funnies. Well in today’s world of the internet, WoW.com has created their own version of the Sunday funnies section of the newspaper called Sunday Morning Funnies. It features all of our favorite web comics, including Experience Points, Looking for Group, NPC, and Dark Legacy Comics. All the comics we love, in one nice little post. Check it out!

Segment 5 – E-Mail / Q&A

If you were to reroll Horde, what class/race would you play and why?
If you were to reroll Alliance….. wait a second…

as a victim of account hacking I have to say the little authenticators we purchased from Blizzard are a great security Item. I will gladly take the chance of losing the authenticator over being kicked off repetedly while someone is trying to log into your account and steal your gold or waking up and logging in in the morning and finding out they succeeded
