Segment 1 – This week in WoW

Hot fixes for Dec 8th

  • Guilds no longer receive guild experience when earning guild achievements. You can read more about this on our forums.
  • If a guild maxed their experience gains for the day, subsequent tallying of individual members’ weekly and total experience gained was not always properly being saved and stored. This has been corrected.
  • Specific mounts, when used in Eastern Kingdoms, were not receiving the appropriate movement speed modifiers between land and ground. This has been corrected.
  • Fishing skill gains were increasing too rapidly past 500 skill and have been adjusted.
  • The tradeskill nodes were too dense in Deepholm and Twilight Highlands for Mining and Herbalism. Several have been removed.
  • All existing guard posts in the world (e.g. Goldshire, Azure Watch, Bloodhoof, etc.) now properly spawn level 85 capital city guards.

Suck it Horde!

Segment 2 – Blizzard Blues

It’s Nerfed or nothing… well, you get something…

  1. Heh, right after listening ot the podcast I was questing in Vash’jir and ended up going to my next “rally point” in a cave (straight across from the Naga and the sailors you need to rescue with air bubbles). I ended up going to the surface, instead of going in the cave. Guess what? Flight point! Right there on the beach.

    Leads to Ironforge too.

And the hunter pets also get 10% experience in the level 80 and below areas just based off thier own experience calculations. They don’t get 1% as you guys stated, but it is SIGNIGICANTLY less.

The big deal here is that hunters can now tame 20+ pets to have on hand. At three levels below you, that’s at least 60 to 75 pet levels (spread out over all the new pets) that need to be earned to get all your pets up to your level. Typically a pet could be leveled to 80 in about two random heroic runs and a handful of mobs. But now a dungeon run will net your pet about a little over a bubble.

I’m glad I leveled my important ones before the change. =)

  2. Ahh HAA! Once you’ve gont to a place (Hyjal, Vash’jir, etc.) a portal to that place then open up in SW by that “farseer” guy (on that little island near Stormwind Keep) so you can set your hearth in SW and then just hop over tot he portals when need be.

I also see a portal for Tol Barad and for other places that I must assume are Uldum and the like.

I found that out as well! I just need to go to SW and set my hearth there – just haven’t had the time to do it yet!

  3. Here’s a potential solution to your problems with accidentally clicking flagged horde instead of a questgiver: in the keybindings, there’s one for “interact with target.” Bind that to something, target the quest giver (either by clicking or /tar), and hit your newly bound key. This also works for interacting with quest givers or npcs upon which someone has parked a mammoth. I used it very successfully while wrestling others for starting the CoC quests, when there’d be 20 mounted people all trying to click the npc.
